Why Has Charlotte Become So Popular?
Here’s why more and more people are moving to Charlotte every day.
According to a recent report, Charlotte is one of the top-20 cities to move to in 2021. In fact, we’ve been in the top-20 for the last three years.
Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina, the 15th-largest city in the U.S., and it’s the No. 2 finance market behind Manhattan. More than 120 people move here daily and we’ve grown by 25% since 2010. There are so many reasons why people come to Charlotte and we’ll go over a few of them today.
When we ask people why they love living here, these are their top answers:
1. Low cost of living. Charlotte is below the national average for cost of living. Taxes are lower here than in other major meteor areas, and Forbes says Charlotte is one of the best places to retire.
2. Climate and nature. We have 212 sunny days a year and an average temperature of 61 degrees. More than half of our winter days are above freezing. There are incredible trails, outdoor centers, and activities for kids and families alike. We have 20,000 acres of parks, the U.S. Whitewater Center, and we’re one of the top-10 cities in the country for tree coverage. We have 45% tree coverage compared to just 10% in Boston.

3. Culture. Whether you love sports, the arts, or music, we have it all. We have an NFL team, an NBA team, and an MLS team. There are numerous art and science museums, the opera, the Charlotte Ballet, and the Charlotte Symphony. We also have the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Charlotte Motor City Speedway.
We’ve both been here a long time and are still exploring new things every week. If you’re planning on moving to Charlotte, we'd love to offer our expert advice.
